How long does it take to change your mindset? The answer is, ‘only an instant’. But many of us have to go through many expensive and lengthy psychological consultations to make that change – what a joke! The reason is because our minds have been preconditioned in our early days. We now have to unlearn things and recondition it for success, but as mentioned earlier, this can happen instantly. What may take time is our decision, at that moment, to change.
You can change your mindset instantly with the right technology and strategy. Think about it – every change in your life actually happened in a moment – didn’t it?
If you listen to Tony Robbins’s seminar, he uses what he calls ‘Nero Association’ to train and condition our minds to think about the pleasure of succeeding so that our minds and bodies can be motivated to focus on reaching for success. It will even teach you how to associate all the pain you will be experiencing if you do not succeed, as this will also propel you to get the goals you want. When exercised over time, it will allow your unconscious mind to take over so that you need not use your willpower to do what you want – you are on auto-pilot – a condition and habit to succeed. Tony calls this technique Nero Association Conditioning (NAC).
So, we must take control of our NAC so that we can produce results consistently and effect lasting change. Tony’s systematic NAC can create long-term effective and constant change to our feelings and behaviors.
The 6 NAC Steps to Change:
1) Know What You Want:
Decide on what you really want. Don’t always cry over what you don’t want.
If you have difficulties knowing what you want, you probably need to know who you are and what your wealth profile is first.
2) Know What is Preventing You From Getting What You Want:
Bring in the factor of massive pain or pleasure that comes with change. For instance, if someone points a gun at you to get you to change, because if not, you will die – what do you do? You change.
Pain and Pleasure comprise the 2nd factor that makes you change. Make pain-inducing questions. Make the pain of association so real that you will feel what will happen to you if you don’t change. And then feel the pleasure you get if you do change, to make you desire change.
3) Interrupt that Pattern or Break the Old Behavior; Remove the Obstacles:
If you keep on having those limiting beliefs and disempowering patterns, how can you expect to change? Associate that inability to change with the pain you will associate with not changing. This could propel you to do the necessary shift in your mindset going forward.
The strategy is to do something that is different from your usual pattern and make that shift. Interrupt your usual pattern. Think of the most enjoyable moment and things you can do, like shouting, “Great! Great! I am doing OK today!” This breaking of pattern can change your state. As we change the images we see, we change how we think and feel.
4) Choose and Install the New Behavior or Pattern You Want:
Create a new and empowering alternative. Establish a long-term change. This new alternative is to replace old ways and patterns. If your own pattern is ‘Excessive Worry,” why not replace it with Massive Actions?
5) Condition Yourself for the New Behavior or Pattern:
This ensures that the change you create will last long term, In order for you not to backslide. This new Pathway will become the Highway to Your Success. Set yourself a schedule; this would reinforce your mind to keep and achieve your goals.
6) Do an Ecology Test for the New Behavior to See If You Have Successfully Installed and Conditioned It To Be Your New Automatic Response:
How does it affect your personal life, how does it give you benefits? Set up a series of short-term goals and milestones so as to reward yourself. Don’t wait for the achievement of your bigger goals. As soon as you achieve small successes, reward yourself.
